Anyone out ther having problems with broken packages on the upgrades for debian, especially concerning helix-gnome? Mike and I finally got htat VAIO up and running-it's a little quirky with the monitor, butxvidtune run at the beginning of each session fixes that. The problem is gmone-GDM won't work at all. It will present you with a login screen, but no login. The weirdest thing is KDE works just fine, both KDM and the environment. I know some may say if KDE works, use it, but I dislike it greatly! I'm a stubborn horse and I know helix-gnome well, and its what I like. What I did notice on the install is that helix-gnome on an apt-get seemed to have lots of broken packages, whereas KDE did not. Is there any reason why the K would work and not the G if everything else is ok? I'm still running 2.2.x Kernel.
