First, be sure you are using a null-modem adapter between the serial port
of the terminal and the PC. Enter the terminal's setup and be sure you
have the proper port enabled. Keep the baud rate at 19200, unless you are
sure the PC's serial port has a 16550 buffered UART. Otherwise, run the
serial port as fast as the terminal can be set for, for zippiest
performance.
I'm typing this e-mail on my kitchen terminal right now.. a DEC VT-320
hooked to an old 14.4 Supra external modem. One of these days I'll run a
cable to the serial port of my Linux box, but that's at the other end of
the house. :-)
