Many cmos setup programs (ie DEL at boot) will lowlevel format drives. On a petnium
133 system I had to lowlevel format a disk I had taken out of an older machine. It
had Ontrack software on it, and I had to lowlevel format it to get it off.
Now that I think of it though, it's possible I haven't seen that option available in
the newer cmos setups (p2/p3).
