hacking the box to enable Ethernet (so he doesn't need Windows and can
hook up his LAN) and running a squid proxy server under Linux.

Darren, did you order Starband? How is it working for you?
I calculate the round trip time to a geosynchronous satellite at
240 milliseconds. Ping time would be twice that, 480 msec.
