Well, maybe not a total newbie, but close.
Currently, I have a reconditioned eMachines PC that I bought to
learn Linux, and I've decided to use it (hopefully) to act as a
server for two/three Windows boxes in our new house in Eugene.
There's space for an ethernet card and all that, but I'd love
any tips on which one to get for the job, as well as people's
opinions of cable/DSL services in Eugene. The new kernel supports
DSL, yes? The eMachine is running on a relatively fast Celeron
processor, and Red Hat seems to love it thus far.
Thanks in advance for any advice. We're moving up at the end of
March, and I'm excited to meet y'all at one of the monthly
meetings or weekly clinics.
