Here's a request from a legislator's office for help defeating UCITA in Oregon. ============================================================ Here is a note that you could send to the PLUG list. I greatly appreciate your help on this project. The Uniform Computer Information Act is under heavy consideration in the state of Oregon right now. Two bills have been introduced to the House of Representatives: one that would adopt UCITA in Oregon, and one that would prevent its adoption. The first was introduced by Representative Max Williams, and the second was introduced by Representative Phil Barnhart. Representative Barnhart is trying to find people who are knowledgeable about the issue, and people who represent organizations that oppose UCITA. He would like to find as many of these people as possible who could come and testify once the two bills related to UCITA reach committee hearings. If any qualified persons are interested in helping out by testifying, please contact Representative Barnhart's intern, Damon Elder, who is working on this project at his email address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Also, if you read this and believe you may know anyone else who is qualified and would like to testify, please pass this email address on to them. Thank you, Damon Elder
