Is there a command that one can run to find out
what version of Linux a server is running. I know there are many other ways to
be able to find this information in SOME scenarios i.e. Telnet, if the port is
open and CAT in the ETC directory for RedHat distributions there is a
RedHat-Release flat text file that depicts the version
information.
