How are your IPs setup?

Do you have two networks, with the linux system routing between the networks?
Is ip forwarding enabled? debian (do this at bootup via startup script):
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

Are the win2k boxes setup with the linux system as their 'default gateway'? This
means, when a computer can't find another computer on it's ip network, it talks to the
default gateway to see if he can access that system.

You can't get the desktops to talk to the linux system, but you can get the linux
system to ping the win2k systems? This is not possible, because your ping from the
linux to the w2k system is talking. icmp echo request (lin-win), icmp echo reply
(win-lin). How are your ips setup? (first question)

You won't be able to have the win2k boxen connect to the internet until the default
gateways, ipmasquerading and proper ip settings are setup.
