Rob suggested E-Smith, and I also found Coyote Linux, which is a
single-floppy distribution for firewalls.  Coyote won't solve my
problem, because I want to put an 802.11 interface on my firewall, and
Coyote doesn't support PCMCIA.

I'll take another look at E-Smith.  (I tried it a year ago or so.)

No, I can't.  Haven't called PacBell back to see if I can exchange it
for a modem with an Ethernet interface.
