Seth, What about iptables? I've been studying it for the past couple of weeks, and have implemented a packet filtering, SNATting and DNATting firewall with it. (I haven't worked on the state matching yet. There's also limit matching (ie accept only 1 ping/sec, etc). I MAY be there on saturday (next week is finals week). If I am, I can talk for a few minutes about the changes that have been made between ipchains and iptables, if you like. He's taking a computerless day today, so I'll answer. I'll try and get this up on the website (Rob?). Mike will be talking about IPchains, portsentry, logcheck, nmap, hosts.deny, IPPL and other cool stuff to protect your box. I'm looking forward to it, a good topic. Learn to secure your box on the net.
