I found out if we could use a room for the Demo Day. All the meeting rooms were full that day with the exception of one room which would be free till 2PM. The room is small not much bigger than our meeting place. If anyone has been to the Red Lion it would be the room up the spiral staircase. I didn't ask about using the Marquee. I think one side will be used for a wedding reception. Where ever we have it hopefully I can put something up on the marquee. It would be the side you would see going north toward belt line. Any Hilton employee's using Linux on the list. This might be good place. I could try and find out about this. The Eugene weekly has a weekly events in Eugene we should consider putting the Demo Day in. The Register Guard has a Daily events which we could do too. I'll try and find out more information and pass it along. Another thought, If Portland and Corvallis could do the Demo Day on the same day it would be a great press for the Oregon lugs. Anyone in either of these groups on the list want to comment. I think it would be a good idea to try and get most or all of the computer shops around to come. Some shops have some tech who could benefit. I found an old Demo Day flyer someone did. It was very good. I'll try and find it again and bring it in next Thursday. I want to have a GNU Public license for handouts and a have it blown up and with some of the key items highlighted. Then have some copies of a restrictive License with their restrictive rights highlighted and we know which this one is. I'll do this. What would be great is a list of all corporations which are supporting GNU /Linux and the links to their pages about GNU /Linux (i.e. IBM,INTEL, HP,DELL). Anyone interested in compiling a list with web addresses. A List of all Open source software which is important to the web. (Apache, DNS Bind, Perl, Zope, Python, PHP & Mysql , Send mail, Jabber). What would be great is a list of top bussineses using Apache, Bind and some of the others. Top sites which use Perl, Zope, Python, PHP & Mysql. Anyone interested in compiling this. Are we going to get some Linux Distro's? We could just have ISO's and have a burner and make copies. This way they could have the lattest Distribution. Neil and Woody, I'm sure will want Slackware on this list. What about other giveaway, Prizes and such? Tim
