Phil,

I'm a little confused on the issue of UCITA.

While briefly reading about it, I was surprised to learn that companies
like Caldera and Redhat are members of the organization that is
supposedly pushing for UCITA, and at least some of the larger software
companies are not, according to the SIIA membership list at
http://www.siia.net/glance/members.asp

It appears to me that the main issues in UCITA are
1)enforcability of shrink-wrap licenses vs. consumer rights, and
2)a standard for dealing with e-commerce vs. present standards.

What are your opinions and can you describe exactly why you feel strongly
about this bill?

Ralph
