Bob, I Know there is more than one person willing and able to bring in their boxes. I know Ron said he'd show his box. He has a dual processor. I know there is a couple others that said they would. It would be nice to set up one box with Samba running. Have a windows box attached showing what Linux and Samba are capable of doing. Especially from what I read about Samba 2.2 . http://us1.samba.org/samba/whatsnew/samba-2.2.0.html I would like to see the Novel like network setup showing the same. Bob told me about this one. I've yet to see it run. If we do a Samba Server, Who has worked with Samba setup and configuration? I haven't so I'm out. If we can get some posters this would be great. SuSE, Red Hat, Mandrake, VA Linux and any others just for the day. I wonder if we can get the Eugene weekly to do a headline on Linux that week. Wouldn't that be great to see TUX on the cover of the Eugene Weekly. And they could say something about Alternative Operating Systems. I think this fit in with Eugene. There are a lot of possibilities here. I think they might like this. Does anyone know anyone at the Eugene Weekly and could check on this? If this happens we could get the Registered Guard involved too. Hey why Stop there. KEZI,KVAL,KMTR could be called too. Seth could do his magic again. Mike could even get in the Picture. This would be a great Plug for Stan and Bob's shops too. If Eugene Weekly did print a story about Linux we'll have to send one down to kbob. Bob, The more I think about it the more I think having it at your business is good. I would like to get more of the Computer Shops involved with Linux. This gives a little more credibility to Linux. The computers shops have heard of Linux and just aren't there yet. Your business does training which is perfect. They need to learn, It's an opportunity. I think the only drawback is if we get a big crowd. Like we haven't seen this before. Tim
