do you still want to keep your linux partition?

if not, re-format the whole drive. win2k setup should do it automagically
for you. all you have to do is tell it what to kill. i've never used
win2k's fdisk (if it has one) so i can't really give you an informed answer.
however,. as with anything that has windows on it, your best bet is still to
wipe the whole damn thing and reinstall. this ensures that windows will
feel safe and actually run nice (for the first few minutes, anyway...)
should you wish to keep your existing win2k partition, i suggest trying
partition magic, or doing a little research into win2k and it's partitioning
programs. if it DOES have a command line fdisk, AND it accepts "/MBR" as an
option, do it. it should work, so long as win2K is on the first partition
(if it's on any other partition, i can't gauranty anything...)

if you still want your linux partition, you need to edit "etc/lilo.conf",
make sure it doesn't prompt, and set the win2k partition as default. this
now means that you can never boot to linux again (i think, others may have
more info for you...) but it is still THERE.

i have win2k and linux living happily on the same box (well, they live
happily if windows can't see linux, which is the case...) and haven't had
any problems with Lilo (so far...).
