http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eservers/zseries/os/linux/lcds

ibm is offering free developer accounts on an S/390,
however, at the very bottom of the page it sez,
please check back on May 14th (!)

So i guess Hofstadter's law is at work, :p

It still sounds pretty cool, a full root access linux server on which to
try out your apps (within limits, /usr and /opt are mounted ro)

This is the same type of setup that got all the media about 36,000
simultaneous linux images running on single mainframe.

Apparently the ibm idea is that you can replace huge warehouse rackmount
server farms with one or a few of their boxes running many 'virtual
servers'.

if this is what peace, love and linux adds up to, i'm for it!
