To all -

You should have seen a note about a project I am coordinating
with the Rogue Penguins here in Ashland.

It is *this Saturday*, 12:00 noon at Project A in Ashland,
Oregon. Expected to run 3-5 hours.

To restate the specifics:

Falcon Northwest, manufacturer of high-end gaming PCs, is
investigating
the usage of Linux as a viable gaming platform and has teamed
with the
Rogue Penguins Linux Users Group.
We will meet for a day or so to install, configure and test
various
Linux distributions and games on some of todays hottest
hardware.
Depending on the success of the project, follow up meetings may
be
scheduled.

Hardware will be provided by Falcon Northwest and will include
:

AMD Dual Palomino (Athlon 4) processor platform
AMD Thunderbird DDR platform
Nvidia Geforce 2 and Geforce 3 video hardware
Promise IDE RAID configurations up to 120 GB

Thanks, Linux users in Eugene! I look forward to seeing some of
you there.
Tell you what - All Eugene gurus that make the trip get a sleek
FNW t-shirt or custom FNW mousing surface.
(don't tell the guys in Medford/Ashland :-) )

Julian Cordle
