at least he's understanding. :)

there are some extenuating circumstances revolving around my job, so i
probably won't be going to Portland (the senior programmer is leaving for a
week and i have a couple of projects that must get done next week.) it's at
11 am, and i HAVE to be there in the morning, so it doesn't look good. but
i might be able to swing it.

regardless of who will be going or not, i still think it'd be a good idea to
meet this weekend and help each other draft letters to our congresspeople
(and their mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, cats, dogs, etc...) once
again, i'd be more than happy to print out reams upon reams of letters for
us all.

i think that this would be very good for the LUG in general. if we put up a
united front, send out letters, talk to our congressmen and just plain be a
nuisance (in a nice, polite way) we can make a difference (man, that sounds
cheezy...)

now that i think about, that's another option the 5% have against the 10% :
we don't have to overthrow them, just get them to think our way...
