I went to Border's today.  They had a sale rack outside.  On it was a
1000 page monster from Sams titled 'Debian GNU/Linux 2.1 Unleashed'.
It's probably a little out of date, but it was only $10, and convered
(in a general sense) everything from the basics to shell scripting,
sysadmin, programming, X, etc, etc.  They also had an OpenLinux
(Caldera?) and a RedHat book for cheap, but I didn't look at those.
