If you actually want a good card, the guys who write the NIC drivers for OpenBSD swear by the Intel etherexpress pro 100+. If you want to run an interesting experiment, put any card in your machine and do a lot of bandwidth crushing activity with any other card (except some 3Com cards) and watch the CPU utilization. Then do the same with the Intel card. You will then know why these cards are worth the extra $20. The new ones even handle logic for IPSec so that you can actually run it faster than 4mbps. Tim
