Sigh... Unfortunately I have sporatic internet access at best :(
So... Whats going on with the project:
we have one workstation setup for aproval... As I get hardware and software tweeked
enough to setup boxes, and get aproval to replace I will...
Im there almost all the time during the week..., I currently have an issue with
some video cards, I can upgrade the crappy 1 meg cirrus logic(compaq) to matrox
millenium ultima/impression 2 meg video cards, however I havnt gotten mandrake or
slackware to use them (well... not well enough to use). These machines will also need
sound cards, and cdroms (Ive scraped up 6 ide cdroms, and a pile of really crappy old
soundcards with scsi cdrom controllers (and we have a ton of ancient scsi cdroms).
Hopefully EFN will be able to come up with a dozen or so soundcards that are the
same brand, and easy to use in windows and linux. If we can scrape up a few more ide
cdroms we will be ok.
Faster CPU's would be a good donation! the boxes will clock upto 200mhz, and we
have 133 cpu's in them.
I have a few drives setup with systems running on them, but they still need
some work before they can be released to the public.
