Um OK. You obviously know more about it than I do, and my cynical side has
been stirred. It's a bummer, though. That warm fuzzy feeling that I was
getting by participating in the project has been taken from me.
Maybe I can get it back with the following memory. (Warning, sentimental
claptrap will now follow) A friend of mine, who has since moved away, used
to make a habit out of giving money to those people who beg on street
corners with signs that say all sorts of pathetic stuff. I asked him "Why
do you do that? Don't you know it's just a scam?"
"Yeah" he replied "but what's important is that I give them something, not
that they got something or what they will do with it."
You see, I honestly believe that everyone should have access to what I
have. This access could simply be a matter of education, or it could be
physical access to resources. I also believe in free software. I think
giving some of my time with these beliefs in mind is more important than the
motivations of EFN or OPN. Maybe it won't even fly, but I would have still
done something.

Other people look at it different. I have no opinions of the quality or
fairness or anything else of OPN/EFN. I know very little about them.
