Dmitry Sklyarov was indicted yesterday for conspiring to violate
the Digital Millenium Copyright Act by writing a program in Russia for his
employer, Elcomsoft, who were indicted as co-conspirators. Dmitry Sklyarov
will be arraigned Thursday.
In order to properly commemorate the first criminal case filed
under the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, I intend to get up early this
afternoon, put on my No DVD CCA T-shirt, and picket at the Senator Wayne
Morse Free Speech Plaza on the NorthWest corner of Eighth Avenue and Oak
Street in downtown Eugene, Oregon, at Five PM, PDT. In the event somebody
else shows up, we can organise and plan more actions.
