The Radio Units that Dennis Eberl loaned us do not appear to work, the
general conclusion was that they weren't powering on [no blinkenlights]
and the documentation tat came with them referred to entering setup by
pressing a button and the modules are buttonless. Those antennas sure look
spacage though :) so Dennis if you're listening can you suggest alternate
power supplies we might try, or hardware futzes that might work?

My next step on exploring networking hardware is a visit to norvac to
price out infrared TX/RX units that can take a serial cable connection,
that way i'll be ready to go when i get that visor...
ultimately i'd like to build a ethernet/IR gateway who knows i might get
one out the door before the commercial models hit fry's clearance shelves
:p

geekcode, haven't touched it; though i have been working on a related
thing which involves python to php, that is using python to write php and
using php pages as a framework for accessing python services. Mostly
qualifies as experimental.

Been doing a bunch of stuff on efn's calendar project, and will be
deploying parts of it to the test BSD server that patrick maintains
sometime within the next week.

Also, I did my first prototype run of an introduction to linux class using
tomsrtbt. I'm thinking up refinements and will be adding to the wikipage
http://wiki.euglug.org/index.php?CommandLineTutorial
as i learn more about what the average student finds to be utterly
baffling about dealing with the shell.

I'm thinking about putting together a python class aimed at
bussinesspersons and not-for-profit organizations that will focus on
giving people enough programming knowledge to solve their own problems.
Basically the sort of person we would call super-users in the windows
world. If you have any suggestions of application areas i should focus on
please let me know.

TIA, larry
