Actually, I find myself once again agreeing with Seth. I think this is
like 3 times in one day! Sheesh!
This IS the way the world is. It didn't change on the 11th, the truth
was just shoved down America's throat at what looked like about 400mph.
We should count ourselves lucky that this is just about the worst thing
that has happened here in a long time. But look around the globe and
you will see things that make this look routine. I am saddened by the
losses, and I am inspired by the bravery of those who are trying to dig
out survivors. I also blame our dysfunctional media system for leaving
people in the dark about how much of this kind of thing goes on all over
the world. More sports coverage anyone? Rwanda? Bosnia? Isn't that a
food additive?
America is a great country. Those men and women in New York are
proving it with their sweat and strength right now. But America is also
a sheltered, somewhat ignorant country. The lingering shock and
surprise of so many people proves that too. I only hope that in the
future we will be more willing to stand by victims abroad, just as so
many countries are standing by us now.
If you love America, help fix it and educate it. Don't let it make
more mistakes. What mistake did we make this time? Do we need more
spyware? Airport security has been audited many times. Holes were not
patched. Weaknesses were exploited.
As always, my opinions are my own and I hope I have not offended
anybody.
