*BSD is out because it doesn't recognize my hardware (at least freeBSD didn't). biding my time involves putting XP back on the system because i can't find my 2K CD either. that's an option i really don't like... my feeling is that 2K was the best OS micro$quish ever made (not saying much...) and after XP, that feeling hasn't gone away.
