cygwin's tha poop! i use it at work to talk to my firewall (although now i can administer it from my home computer...)
it has a serious package list as well and, although i haven't tried it yet, it can apparently run X under windoze. -----Original Message----- From: Rob Hudson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, October 26, 2001 10:28 AM To: EUGLUG Subject: [EUG-LUG:3460] CygWin rocks I just ripped a CD on my windows machine (it's the only one with a CD at the moment) and was wondering how I was going to get those mp3s onto my linux box without having to install samba or ftp, etc. I remembered I had Cygwin on the windows computer and wondered if I could just scp them over. Sure enough, easy as pie. So nice to have powerful command line tools on a windo~1 computer. :) -Rob -- Rob <rob_at_euglug_dot_net> my @euglugCode = qw(v+++ e--- eug+ bsd+++ gnu+ S+++);
