i'm having problems adjusting the volume with esound. if esd is running, i can only affect each stream individually by using a panel applet. if i want to change the global system volume, i have to shut down esd, open up aumix and adjust everything, then open esd again and test to see if the volume is acceptable. if i try to open aumix while esd is running, i get a "cannot open mixer device" error.
i suppose i could just open aumix and leave it open (before starting esd), but it's kind of lame to have an extra window open JUST so i can adjust the volume. has anybody experienced this before, or is it just me? and does it matter if my sound driver is installed in the kernel, or do things go smoother when compiled as a module? -- Justin Bengtson ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) euglug = v+ e- eug++ bsd? gnu++ s++ "I called some kid "b" the other day.
