Doesn't matter, he's already duped it to cassette.

Part of the core of most Linux distributions is rec, a command line
tool to read/write/copy sound files.  I think the right command would
be approximately this.

        rec -c 2 -r 44100 -s w -d /dev/dsp myfile.wav

You want to hit RETURN just about the time you hit PLAY on the tape
player.
