I strongly suggest CUPS (http://www.cups.org/) + gimp-print (http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/). gimp-print greatly extends the usefulness of CUPS, which only has generic drivers. The gimp-print drivers are very nice, supporting such ops as full-bleed, duplexing, 2880x2880 resolution (of course, only if your printer supports these types of things :) Also, gimp-print lets you tweak and tune the drivers. My home printing is set up for mid-high quality prints, while the printer at work is set up for speed and low ink usage. In both cases, the printers (an Epson Stylus Color 740, and a Canon Bubble Jet 2000) are better supported than with ghostscript (they can print on the whole page, ghostscript/lpd wouldn't print on the bottom 1/2"), and much easier to set up, test and tweak. Just install CUPS and gimp-print and point your favorite browser at http://localhost:631 CUPS also integrates nicely with Samba, allowing you to export drivers to SMB clients (although this is somewhat broken in the latest release, 1.1.12, 1.1.13 should be out RSN). -- <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
