I'm back online only to find since I left everyone's been having the Thursday meeting blues. Well I'm really going thru the Thursday meeting blues :-) So I leave and all of you think you don't have to meet. I had a lot of reading to do. At least I have the list. All I have to say is pick a place and meet. But here I am 2500 miles away only wishing to be at a Thursday meeting. I hope everyone had a great holiday since I left.
Well I'm an Open Source advocate here in Wisconsin. I'm going to try and start a LUG here in the Fox cities (Neenah,Menasha,Appleton,Kimberly,Kaukauna,Combined Locks & Little Chute). I've e-mailed one guy who was looking for a LUG and talked with another guy who has some friends who hang out on a Linux IRC. If I see that him again I'm going to find out If they'd like to start a LUG. There was a LUG in GreenBay which is about 30 miles away but the webpage and Links don't work anymore. I know there is a very acive Milwaukee LUG, but that's a 90 minute drive. There have been a lot of people here who either heard of it or have tried it. So I have my work cut out for me. I've got a couple people to say they were going to try Linux and those who did use it encouraged them to keep it up. Since I wasn't online I did a presentation with Kpresenter about Linux. I've since gotten these big sheets of paper which I'm going to glue the presentation on to. I could e-mail the presentation to someone who could do the same for the nex DemoDay, just let me know. Well I hope you meet next Thursday. And if you do, think of a lone Linux user in Wisconsin who is going thru the Thursday meeting blues. Tim
