Hey Bob,
I do the S/PDIF thing out from my SBlive (through a 1/8th inch MONO minijack 
to single RCA) into a Dolby Digital connection on my receiver. The old Live 
doesn't support 5.1 audio but probably aren't looking for that. Are you 
looking to work with music or just pipe some mp3's and ogg's to your stereo?
