happy new gnu year!!! i'd like to thank everyone on
the list for being there for questions, complaints and
praise for our favorite OS('s)!

i figured i'd start out the new year by re-organizing
my computer for distro development.

i migrated /home to the 40gb hard drive this morning.
'man cp' says -a is the same as -cpR, so i ran the
command and waited for a good 10 minutes while 13+
gigs of accumulated crap transfered. all went well, i
rewrote fstab, killed the old /home, and re-booted.
seamless. thanks guys!

i set up a /devel partition ( 7.1 gigs ) for the
distro. /home has @23 gigs. and i actually have a
winxp partition. two reasons : my SO and rtcw single
player (i really should look into wine... my head's
in way too many places these days.) once rtcw comes
out in single player for linux, i'll ask my SO to
learn a little linux. at least she's willing...
besides, i forced myself to use winxp for only one
thing by leaving all my music in linux. now i *have*
to reboot when i'm done playing...

anyway, i'm going to start from scratch again, this
time fishing out all of the packages myself. props
still go out to LFS, but i want to get the latest and
greatest packages out there. i hope to have the
distro tarball and a boot cd ready in a couple of
weeks. i'll keep y'all updated if you'd like.

i'm thinking of making a web page for the distro, but
i have nowhere safe to host right now, what with the
cable modem funniness these days. i'd switch to DSL,
but without a roommate, i'm down $250 a month... go
figure. at least i have a new gaming room. too many
hobbies...
