Hey LUGsters, the Tech Brewpub is Wednesday, and it's moved!
It's not at the Wild Duck, it's at the Hilton.
Wonder if we can park in the Hilton's underground garage...

Subject: SAO/EEF Brew Pub this Wednesday moved to the Hilton Eugene
Date: Mon, 7 Jan 2002 13:03:58 -0800
The Eugene Chamber of Commerce
Eugene Entrepreneurs Forum (EEF)
and
the Software Association of Oregon (SAO)
networking "Brew Pub" event
will be held at the Hilton Eugene
66 E. 6th Avenue
Wednesday, January 9, 5-7 pm
$5 at the door
This networking event brings together entrepreneurs, software and other
information technology professionals, management talent, investors and
business support service providers.
A brief presentation titled "Innovation Management in the "Knowledge
Economy" will also be featured. Skip Rung, a principal at Skip Rung
Innovation Advisors in Corvallis, will discuss how short market cycles
create the need for constant business "re-invention." Skip will share his
philosophy that contrary to a widespread perception, the "Knowledge Economy"
is not synonymous with "high technology", but is best understood as a highly
advanced state of economic development in a region where most businesses
and jobs - including virtually all that "export" to other countries and
regions- require leading-edge intellectual assets in globally competitive
fields. These assets include highly educated employees, patents, and trade
secrets.
Skip is a former R& D Manager for IPS Technology Platforms at Hewlett
Packard, Skip also serves as a member of the Oregon Engineering and
Technology Industry Council, and the Corvallis/Benton County Economic
Development Partnership. Skip is a co-founder of the New Economy Coalition,
a grass roots public awareness campaign supporting a New Economy Agenda.
This event is open to the public. There is a $5 charge at the door and light
food/refreshments are included. Micro brews, wine and soft drinks will be
available from a no-host bar. No reservations are necessary.
The Eugene Entrepreneurs Forum is a program of the Eugene Area Chamber of
Commerce. It is dedicated to developing a positive environment for emerging
growth business in the Eugene area.
The Software Association of Oregon is a technology trade association
dedicated to fostering the growth of Oregon's software industry.
Both organizations offer exceptional networking and educational
opportunities, critical workforce development programs, and a wide range of
benefits for companies and individuals.
