c'mon, guys... it's saturday. moreso, it was a beautiful day (hell, it was a
beautiful _week_!). if you spent more than half your time today in front of
the computer, then, well... nevermind.

the other night i completed my project. i have FlightGear up and running on a
custom linux installation. i found out what Eugene's "Airport ID" was and i
have the game set to automatically start me on our runway.

before i left for mt. pisgah this morning, i took a short "flight" up to
Portland and then down the coast to Florence. i'm happy to say that all of my
work was worth it. and, having done all that work, i am not planning a distro.
 too much work!

for my next trick, i'm thinking of writing a launcher for FlightGear using Perl
and GTK+. there's a hell of a lot of options you can pass to the binary...
and the uiuc flight model seems to start out with the plane's nose facing the
ground (even on the runway...) there's gotta be a way to fix that!

anyway, y'all have a good night. let's hope tomorrow is as nice as today was!
