Tim Howe, are you still on this list? Ever get X working on that BookPC w/OpenBSD?
The i810 based Debian box at work started mysteriously freezing. I thought it was a bad combo with konqueror and acroread, but then it started happening more and more often. Then it froze when I was untarring the kernel sources. I decided the disk was going bad. So I had a choice to make. Reinstall Debian, or try to get X working with OpenBSD and that i810 chip. Guess what? It's working! (OK, after X starts the other VTs are too dim to read, but that's a known problem with X4 < 4.2.0 & wscons.) I used the patches at http://www.sergey-smitienko.com.ua/files/patch.v2.tar.gz and a little experimentation/intuition. -- <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ... one happy camper :)
