So... Ive been muching about with the laptop (little 300 meg hard disk...)
and have gotten a slackware system running now, with apache, mod_ssl,
mod_php, and mysqld. However Ive never setup mysqld... and im having some
issues with it :( Im guessing it needs a database, and I dont have one!
I get : "Table 'mysql.host' doesn't exitst" error. It trying out postnuke and
have it almost going.... but I just havnt done that mysql thing or postnuke
thing before.
I ended up trying a lot of browsers, I even tried filling 1/2 of the hard
disk with kde just to get konqueror working. I tried netscape 2,3,4.5,4.77,
mosaic, w3m (check it out its tiny!), but ended up using opera, netscape 4xx
runs, but way slow on 24 megs ram! I never got kde 2 working, but kde did
run, but sucked (kfm). mosaic never ran, nor did netscape 2 or 3 (required
staticly linked libraries to be installed....) But opera works fine (just
gotta put up with stupid advertisements.
So... If you need a gui browser, dont have much disk space, check out
opera... its 2-3 meg download, and under 10 meg install.
