If you want a new PC-PVR getup on the cheap, look into a cheap athlon mobo with built-in IDE RAID... use two 7200 RPM drives, striped, and I believe you'll be happy as a clam. here's a recent deal you might like: http://dealnews.com/articles/32902.html Abit KT7-RAID SocketA mobo for $49 and less; up to 1.2GHz Duron and Athlons supported, but this mobo has a PCI slot, which I hear slows down the overall bandwidth by about 10% too. Any confirmation on this?
