i386 and source. Potato, woody and sid. Free, non-free, and contrib.
Miscellaneous overhead files. Rsync'd every night with --links,
--delete, and --delete-excluded, so there's nothing extra in there. *

I quote the Debian web site (http://www.debian.org/mirror/size):

I also point you to the obligatory size graph.

        http://ftp-master.debian.org/~mmagallo/

Here's the size breakdown of my top two directory levels.

        central-services /debian> du -h debian | grep -v '/.*/.*/'
        200k debian/doc/FAQ
        2.0M debian/doc/package-developer
        5.2M debian/doc
        3.1G debian/dists/potato
        272k debian/dists/potato-proposed-updates
        55M debian/dists/sid
        205M debian/dists/woody
        104k debian/dists/woody-proposed-updates
        3.3G debian/dists
        4.3M debian/indices
        329M debian/pool/contrib
        12G debian/pool/main
        642M debian/pool/non-free
        13G debian/pool
        12k debian/project/trace
        312k debian/project/a.out_upgrade
        17M debian/project/dpkg
        196k debian/project/experimental
        196k debian/project/misc
        17M debian/project
        940k debian/tools
        16G debian

Here's the breakdown of source vs. binary sizes.

    Binary: 7.6 Gb
        central-services /debian> find debian -type f -name \*.deb | \
                                  xargs cat | wc
        7974256

    Source: 8.4 Gb
        central-services /debian> find debian -type f ! -name \*.deb | \
                                  xargs cat | wc
        8791832

So Debian is not just the most ideologically pure Linux distro, it's
also the biggest. (-:

* Actually, I did find two extra things in there. I have the
hurd-i386 architecture .debs for 430 Mb, and some files called .udeb
for all architectures for 15 Mb.
