This just bounced from the list... It looks worthy of posting :) Jamie
Greetings, You are cordially invited to an introductory brainstorming session to = create a group to promote and support the use of open source software = and the Linux Terminal Server Project in Lane County. The mission of = this group will be to serve as an umbrella organization for local Linux = advocacy groups and individuals volunteering for this project. Through the beginning efforts Tim Rogers, JR Dallas of Head Start of = Lane County and myself, we have received a request for LTSP projects at = Pleasant Hill Middle school (10 terminals) and also Dexter library. We = will need volunteers to help train and support administrators and/or = teachers as this project expands. One of the issues on the opening = agenda will be how to best implement this support system (mentors?).=20 It is my hope to keep this ball rolling and to expand these pilot LTSP = networks to as many schools, libraries, governments, and non-profits as = possible but your volunteer help is needed. It is also my hope that this = umbrella group will be an effective force for change in Lane County.=20 Where: Eugene Free Net office 43 W. Broadway Eugene When: May 2 7 pm I hope you will be able to attend, and bring your ideas. Thank you.
