I agree that this is a nice interface touch, because it's easier to switch back and forth between the tabs than to find the window you want in a big stack.
As far as a tabbed interface for a browser, recent (I can't remember the build but I think it got added in .92) builds of Mozilla provide this. You can set it up so that middle clicking a link opens it up in a new tab. Ctrl-t creates a new blank tab. I use this all the time and it's great. Since it's in Mozilla, Galeon probably provides this functionality as well... Kahli
