I've heard good things about 3ware.  I have a computer coming up that might use
3ware or Adaptec.  I set them up with a boot drive and use raid on the data drive
so I don't boot from raid.

I checked out my HPT370.  The kernel drivers for it only support raid 0.  No good
for me.
