I don't know much about sync-on-green, but some googling showed that a lot of older monitors for sgi and sun systems used this (SOG), and it seems a lot of Macs have as well; maybe it is the same sync used for station mixing? Many new monitors and LCD's support this, and my monitor is pretty nice but no-go : / yet
