What's the story, Ron? Are they going to individuals or to an organization? I know EFN/OPN can provide a receipt for tax-deduction purposes... and there is at least one other local organization looking for PC donations for a school -- they said they wanted P266 w/ CDROM's at best -- Seth, who was that (Wednesday night?)?? I would think it preferrable to donate to an organization that could make the iron available to more than one person... The "Lane Open Source" project (Lane's LTSP) ispicking up steam, and schools will soon be looking for extra hardware for dumb terms, networking, and also servers... See the wiki.euglug page. Portland's having a Linux Clinic tomorrow, and it has been announced to area educators (see schoolforge.net)... I hope we can follow their lead; my vision is that in a few years our public schools will be paying the teachers better as well as hiring more... and the tech budget they _do_ have go for a mix of hardware and support of open source systems!!! hurrah, _we_ all win!
