OK, the Linksys card and NFS seem to be happy now. The problem was
three-fold. First was that /etc/pcmcia/network was missing the line

. $0.opts

So the info info in network.opts weren't getting read. Second, cardmgr
doesn't generate a /var/run/stab file like it's supposed to. This was
keeping cardmgr from unloading the proper modules and removing eth0.
Thirdly, the card only seems to work at IRQ 10, which, even if I had
known from the beginning (I got that by reading the dmesg of the machine
after it booted OpenBSD), wouldn't have mattered because the other other
two problems were keeping the configs from being read in the first place.

Have I said all I had to do to get this card to work properly on
OpenBSD was put it in? No modules to load, no scripts to debug,
just stick it in.

I also tracked down the modules.conf options to get the soundchip
working, but it seems a little quiet. Is there any simple way to
get the mixer settings? On OpenBSD, I'd just do

% mixerctl -a

Is there anything like that in Linux? I tried

% man -k sound
sound: nothing appropriate
% man -k audio
sound: nothing appropriate
% man -k mixer
sound: nothing appropriate
% man -k mix
sound: nothing appropriate
% man -k dsp
sound: nothing appropriate
% man -k d
d: nothing appropriate

??? huh ???

% sudo makewhatis -w
% man -k sound
