When I was trying to get my Xircom pcmcia NIC working, I found several
message that said they don't work. But now I have it working just fine.

So because, say, M$, doesn't have a FAQ listing known bugs means their
products are not buggy?

Not sure what you mean here. Could you expand on that please?

IIRC, X 4.2.0, which has been out for a while now, has improved XVideo
support for several drivers. Not sure about your particular hardware.
Is it a Trident Cyberblade? Are you using the kernel framebuffer driver?

Was ogle compiled specifically for the hardware it's being used on?
I don't have a dvd drive, but I've heard that optimizin ogle can make
it work a lot smoother.

So maybe use mplayer instead of ogle?

Not every piece of free software is going to work perfectly on
every piece of hardware. That's what bug lists are for, so the
developers can know about and keep track of problems.
