Yes, avoid celeron would be my suggestion. You seem to say you wouldn't try something other than Intel, but I'll also suggest AMD -- the 900MZ, 950MHZ are at an amazing price-point for their processing power... 1GHz is sometimes also a good deal but usually more is charged for the "new scale". (also avoid duron, for that matter; cache is a Good Thing)
