EUGLUG is sponsoring two presentations on Linux in November.
Thanks to our presenters for making these possible!

The Advanced Track presentation:

Title: Firewalling with Linux 2.4: Netfilter and IPTables
     Presenter: Cory Petkovsek
Time: Saturday, November 2nd 1:00 to 3:00 PM
Place: EFN World HQ, 43 W. Broadway

We'll explore some firewalling concepts, then setup a stateful
firewall with Linux. You'll see how to build a firewall for a
single host or for a large LAN. Stateful firewalling means
simpler and more effective rule sets. We'll make a complete
firewall script for a single host with only two lines!

The Newbie Track presentation:

     Title: Compiling the Linux Kernel
     Presenter: Mike Owen
Time: Saturday, November 16th, 1:00 to 3:00 PM
Place: EFN World HQ, 43 W. Broadway

There are many reasons to compile your own Linux kernel. Take
advantage of the latest or most archaic hardware, save memory,
enable unusual network configurations, or simply personalize your
boot-time message. Whatever the reasons, everybody ends up
building her own kernel occasionally. Mike will draw on his vast
experience and lead us through the traps and pitfalls of this
     rite of Linux passage.
