A Whitehat is a security expert interested in protecting data, keeping intruders out, and networks secure. A Security Administrator. A Redhat is an OSS OS. A Greenhat is an elite army band member. ;) Note that black and whitehats usually have very similar skill sets, however how they use them differentiates the color of their hat.
