Uh, I guess I should say something. (-: We live at Gillespie Corners, which is roughly 15 miles southwest of Eugene. We have an IDSL line. IDSL is "ISDN DSL". It's much slower than real DSL, 144 Kbps symmetric, but works over much longer line lengths. Most ISPs that sell DSL will also sell ISDL. We happen to use ATG. IDSL generally costs more than DSL. We pay $89/month for business service w/ 6 static IP addresses. You should also talk to someone who resells Reach DSL. It works over longer line lengths than Qwest's DSL. EFN and Rio are two local ISPs who sell Reach. As for satellite, I thought I read last month that DirecTV was shutting down their DirecPC service. Between the satellite latency and the bandwidth cap, I didn't think DirecPC looked useful for us. -- Bob Miller K<bob> kbobsoft software consulting http://kbobsoft.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Eug-LUG mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mailman.efn.org/cgi-bin/listinfo/eug-lug
