I learned recently that with X 4 it handles truetype fonts natively. There is no need to run xfstt or the like. I haven't implemented it and am still running xfstt, but I plan on switching. XFS 4 is a truetype aware font server, but X doesn't need a font server and can load the fonts directly.
http://www.xfree86.org/4.0.3/fonts2.html#2 Put your fonts where your other X fonts are stored. The link above shows /usr/local/share/fonts, but on my debian system it is /usr/share/fonts. I made a directory for all of my truetype fonts: /usr/.../truetype Cory _______________________________________________ Eug-LUG mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mailman.efn.org/cgi-bin/listinfo/eug-lug
